The document reader is intended for automatic reading and authenticity verification of passports, ID cards, driving licences, visas and other documents. The device provides the capability of text data recognition, reading barcodes, RFID tags and smart cards.

Regula 70x4 is a lightweight, compact reader with a flip-top cover for desktop use. The device is designed in plastic body. It is connected to a PC with the help of a USB cable and needs no additional power supply. The document reader can be integrated into automatic border security kiosks.

Certain models of the document reader allows capturing images of documents in white, infrared, ultraviolet and white coaxial light. Regula 70x4 can be optionally equipped with an RFID-reader and a smart card reader. The device operation is controlled via Regula Document Reader SDK.

Operation

1. The optical reader automatically detects a document in the scanning area of the device.

2. Document images are captured in different illumination modes. At the same time data is read from RFID tags and smart cards.

3. Regula Document Reader SDK processes data.

4. Results of the verification are ready for further use.
